Break Through Artists

disclosureprojectRadiosonde is an artist album by The Disclosure Project on their self owned record label.  Taking over a year to compose and arrange. It’s contents can best be described as organic electronic music. Looking back into the past and to the present, its musical influences range from Jazz, Funk, Nature documentaries, Classical music, Ambient, Down tempo and House.  While that may sound like it spans the gamut of music, and it’s often a cliché that artists will claim their music covers all these grounds. A listen to this album will solidify this statement as fact.

The album showcases ten tunes that are supported by solid groove, whilst keeping melody and harmony at the center stage of the production. As far as albums by The Disclosure Project go this one presents a more cerebral experience than normal. Taking the listener from emotional deep listening tracks, right through to hip swaying and head nodding funk. Along the journey trip hop and electronica are woven seamlessly into the albums fabric. Even a little US deep house appears here and there. It’s as if the album intentionally dares you to stretch your musical taste.

Tom Strobe (born May 18, 1993), is a chill out music producer and performer from Donetsk, Ukraine.

The new EP called Gold is out on Loodma Recordings by Meeke.

comixxx div 032 200x300Sebastian Damerius was born in Bad Moskau at the border of Poland in 1980. Having an actor and musician as a father little Sebastian is raised towards an artistic direction in life. No wonder he's already somewhat like a local scratch hero behind the decks in his early youth. Later on though, he decides to concentrate on visual arts and studies media design im Weimar. When he meets Marlow here he realizes that is music after all which is the best expression outlet for his creativity.
Together with his mentor Marlow he releases his first record “Quiet” on Moonharbour. Further mutual productions follow and they also draw attention way beyond the borders of Thüringen (f.e. a certain DJ Hell charts one of their tracks). As a consequence Damerius moves to the Mekka of electronic dance music, to Berlin. Here he works together with Knixx on proper pop songs. “Drop The Bomb” for instance, is selected by radio station Fritz into their heavy rotation playlist.
The next big step of his career is made by sending a demo CD to Sonar Kollektiv A&R manager Alex Barck. Being super enthusiastic about Damerius' production skills, Barck not only signs ComixXx to the label but also decides to spend the next few months together with Sebastian in the studio to record his solo debut album. This fruitful team work results also in several remixes for acts like Erlend Oye, Sonzera, Pito and Jazzanova. Mid 2015 the debut by ComixXx will hit the streets. This is gonna be fun, for sure.

lusine_evablueJeff McIlwain has been producing his visceral, melodic strain of abstract electronic music as Lusine for over 10 years now. Originally a Texas native, McIlwain met Shad Scott while living in LA and put out his self titled debut on Scott's imprint, Isophlux. He relocated to Seattle in late 2002 and began steadily releasing his music on Ghostly International. McIlwain has also contributed tracks to various compilations and remix releases on Mute, !K7, Kompakt, Asthmatic Kitty, and Shitkatapult. His last, critically acclaimed album, A Certain Distance, was released in 2009, and a follow-up compilation of 12” tracks and remixes, Lucky Numbers, was released soon after in 2010.

McIlwain has performed throughout the US and abroad, including a set at London’s esteemed Fabric nightclub, Tokyo's Unit, Berlin's Watergate nightclub, and most recently at Melbourne’s Electric Owl. He has been involved in the scoring of various film and commercial projects, co-scoring David Gordon Green’s 2008 film Snow Angels (with Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell), scoring Kevin Bray’s 2009 film Linewatch (with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Omari Hardwick), and most recently teaming up with Wingo again to co-score the 2011 film, "The Sitter" (Jonah Hill). He is putting the final touches on his next album and expecting to hit the road in 2012.
