horizontalism mainFollowing the success of last year’s Hard Believer album—which saw the trio known as Fink melding Fin Greenall’s ruggedly lush vocals with a slow-burning and steady-thumping array of string plucking (Guy Whittaker) and cymbal smashing (Tim Thornton)—they ring in 2015 with Horizontalism, due for release via R’COUP’D on 18 May 2015.

Presented as a collection of dubs from Hard Believer, the re-worked material takes on a decidedly more mysterious turn: vocals dangle and loop precariously over raw edges of murky sound, lasers oscillate and waves crash, percussion click-clacks somewhere far away, and the listener somehow draws nearer to the core from which Fink draws the sonic intimacy for which they’re so well-known. Inspired by Greenall’s new home in Berlin and his resurgent interest in electronic production, his series of mixes may stand in stark contrast to the bands musical output of the past years but the listener finds themselves at the same intersection of impassioned storytelling, manifest emotion and darkly beautiful ambience that Fink fans have come to expect.

stefanrehStefan Reh alias who was born near Rostock is a typical northern light. Somewhat quiet, cautious and always courteous but in the right spot at the right time also forceful and determined. This is rather something cool in a sense that kind of born northern is broken by his creative quest. From a young age he began to express himself through music and the way led him steadily upward. For some time the DJ craft has been a rather active but quite successful pastime. But with his move to Berlin he wanted more. He quickly adapted to the Berlin culture as though there was a nearly seamless transition between Rostock and Berlin.
Soon the time had then come for a decision which had to be made because the music took more and more time. Without further ado he quit his steady job and began training as an Audio Engineer. Through this he was able to gain new experiences, contacts and most importantly knowledge. After his final one led to another. Due to his very own style of music which is composed of a mixture of Ambient, Deep and Techhouse, his very good quality in producing "Karmaloft" noticed him and signed him as an artist. He is not however satisfied with his already good range of creative musical work. In addition to being a producer, DJ and Liveact, he has began training as a sound designer to satisfy his experimental side and may be able to get into the film and television business. So if you are looking for a music loving, experimental, flexible, enthusiastic but also equally responsible and uncomplicated artist, is Stefan always a good advice.

ikonAustralian band IKON has been creating its unique brand of wave music for eighteen years. Chris McCarter (vocals, guitar, programming) and Dino Molinaro (bass) began to write songs as high school students in 1988. In 1991, their original name Death in the Dark was replaced by IKON, and the band’s original singer was Michael Carrodus, who departed in 1997 after two albums.

The duo was joined by guitarist Anthony Cornish in 2006 who fulfilled live duties until 2010. Love, Hate and Sorrow, IKON’s sixth studio album was released in November 2009 and was three years in the making.
