julian_lucyWhen Julian Lennon was a little boy he brought home a drawing he made at school of a girl named Lucy.  When he showed the drawing to his Father, John Lennon, he asked Julian what the drawing was of.  Julian said, "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".

At the time, John Lennon was a member of the band "The Beatles".  Inspired by the drawing and Julian's description of it, John and the other Beatles band members wrote a song titled, "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds."

Years later as an adult, Julian reconnected with Lucy, who inspired the drawing, and found out she was struggling with the disease Lupus.  When in the studio recording for a song ironically titled "Lucy" with James Scott Cook.  Julian was notified that Lucy had passed away while fighting the disease.  After some lyric changes, the song took on a whole new meaning and it was decided that Julian and James would sing the song as a duet with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to charities that support Lupus research.

Julian thought that this would be a great way for him to honor Lucy's memory and also help the cause.  James that shared the fact that his Grandmother had been living with Lupus since he was a little boy, and unbelievably, her name was Lucy too.

You can support by picking up a copy of "Lucy".
